Salvador Dalí (Figueres, 1904–1989) was a versatile artist who cultivated numerous techniques. One of his least known facets is that of etching. Just like in his painting, Dalí stamped his personal symbols on graphic art, and his prints are characterised by his obsession with details. In themselves, the images Dalí offers us in this exhibition explain the human comedy, the behaviour that is ridiculous, but no less real, of mankind in the world and at all times, that is, in history.
The exhibition includes seventy-two prints and etchings produced between 1946 and 1974, belonging to the so-called “Dalí literary cycles”, when the artist copied and recreated universal literary works giving them his own particular vision and interpretation.
