About the project
Antoni Gaudí
Organised by: Municipal Culture Foundation – Valladolid City Council, Aurea Cultura i Art and Càtedra Gaudí (Gaudí Chair).
Curator: Charo Sanjuán.
Coordination: Aurea Cultura i Art.
The exhibition is a very clear and educational approach to the person and work of Antoni Gaudí, one of the most outstanding international figures in architecture and art. Drawings, sketches, models, furniture, architectural elements, sculptures, period photographs and audiovisuals enable the visitor to gain an understanding of the complex personality and the main works of the eminent architect on a tour from the projects he designed as a student to the Temple of the Sagrada Família—his best known work—including Palau Güell and the Calvet, Batlló and Milà homes, popularly known as “La Pedrera” (“The Quarry”), one of the architectural masterpieces of the 20th century. Intellectual rigor and seriousness, indispensable when considering the figure and work of this eminent and singular architect, are the premises governing the presentation and content of the exhibition.
