Through plans, drawings, models, furniture, architectural elements, sculptures, period photographs, and various audiovisual aids, and with an educational approach, this exhibition introduces visitors both to this eminent architect’s complex personality and his most important work in Barcelona.
The exhibition consists of a selection of 124 works, about 40 period photographs, and various audiovisual aids. It is divided into five sections—an introduction and four thematic areas—that show visitors a series of different projects undertaken by Gaudí, from the Teresian Catholic School to the Sagrada Família itself, including the projects that Eusebi Güell commissioned Gaudí to build for him (the pavilions for the Güell Estate, the Güell Palace, the Park Güell, and the church at Colònia Güell) and the urban houses: the Vicens House, the Batlló House, and the Milà House, the last of these better known as “La Pedrera” (“the Quarry”).
The exhibition also includes the projection of the superb visual work Forja (“Forging”), by the Catalan artist Frederic Amat, inspired by La Pedrera façade and its forgings.
